The Aylsham Manor

Beautiful and spacious gardens and period features welcome our residents

The Aylsham Manor, Norfolk is a beautiful seventeen century grade 2*listed building which has had major upgrades over the years to provide a safe, homely environment for 28 older persons. The Manor is also able to provide 2 day care places a day.

Once a bishop’s summer palace, the house retains many original features and provides comfortable accommodation in a period setting. It is set in lovely grounds of three acres with its tall trees surrounding extensive lawns with paths and seating areas for residents to enjoy.

All rooms are single occupancy (25 en-suite and 9 easy to access showers). There are ample toilet facilities and three bathrooms all fitted with bath aids, including one Parker bath with hydro-spa. The three lounges, dining room and small conservatory - all tastefully furnished - provide plenty of space and choice of sitting areas. The Aylsham Manor offers an environment where the furnishings and rooms offer residents and their visitors a variety of seating arrangements to make their life as homely and socially welcoming as possible.

All bedrooms have individually controlled central heating as well as television and telephone points. Every room is different due to the uniqueness of the building and can only be appreciated by viewing. Residents are encouraged to see the Home as their own and have always been enabled to bring their own furniture. There is a choice of 3 communal areas, a small library with large print books and a separate hairdressing area and a small interview room for privacy.

For the complete safety of residents the home has adopted a no smoking policy within the Home, but there are outdoor smoking areas.

Location

The Aylsham Manor has the advantage of sitting right at the heart of Aylsham, close to all local amenities. Aylsham is a traditional Norfolk market town midway between Cromer and Norwich. Being in the centre of a thriving market town means service users have access to the town's facilities. There is a mini bus which takes residents out for drives and outings.

Gold Standard Framework

The Aylsham Manor has an excellent reputation for the quality of care provided, and our residents almost always feel at home straight away. We are proud of our dedicated staff and we place a high emphasis on training, to ensure our standards remain high.

The Aylsham Manor has been awarded the nationally recognised accreditation of Commend for a Gold Standard Framework of Care to residents who are in their later stages of life. As a Home, our main goal is to support residents to have a happy, contented life here.

The staff have been trained in many aspects of care to ensure your health and well being, and to help you maintain your choices, independence and dignity. Sometimes, unfortunately, you may find, for reasons of failing health, your hopes and goals change. At these times, it is important that you can have the confidence in our care to remain living at The Aylsham Manor
